About USApplicants
Why was USApplicants set up?
USApplicants was set up to address the lack of support and information available to those students who are thinking about applying to US universities. Harry Guinness returned from an undergraduate degree at Yale waxing lyrical about all things “College” and so liaised with Will Orr Ewing, an old friend and founder of Keystone Tutors. USApplicants brings together that enthusiasm, experience and reliability.
How does USApplicants differ from other education consultants?
USApplicants gives students a real sense of all aspects of the admissions process. We are happy to acknowledge that some students need very little supervision, and that others will do best with lots of support, but that no two students are alike. By providing one-to-one tuition according to the student’s own schedule, we hope to bring out the best in each individual rather than paper over the cracks.
How does USApplicants pick its tutors?
USApplicants has a rigorous selection procedure. Tutors are all interviewed face-to-face, and have to provide references. USApplicants most important referencing is internal. We tap into networks of young, enthusiastic and critically, bright American students based in London. Most of these students took the current SAT and know just how confusing and competitive the application process is, having only just completed it themselves.
Beyond their own tricks of the trade, tutors have access to a best approaches guideline for each subject. We don’t have one set curriculum; rather, by sharing what works for other students and tutors, we aim to provide something for all standards and personalities.
