information resources and help?
Hey
Im a prospective applicant to University in America, i would be applying for universities this time next year, i know its quite awhile off but i wanted to get a head start on the research.
i was just wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of some helpful general information regarding applications to the US?
I already have done a little research and i have a general idea of the universities and courses i wish to apply for.
Thanks
Tom

Dear Tom,
Sorry for taking so long to get back to you - the holidays have been extremely busy. The Fulbright Commission is an excellent place to start looking; otherwise, you can post specific questions here, and I'll do my best to answer them myself. Most US universities offer financial aid to UK students; a list can be found at www.admissionsadvice.com.
Good luck,
Harry

Thanks Harry, i will have a look at the list.
ive already decided i wish to study in MA, as close to Boston as possible.
I already have friends out there so that should make things easier once im attending uni.
Ive already looked at the universitys in the area and i cant see any that offer financial aid to UK students and most grants i dont seem to be elligable for as i wish to study primary/elementary education. so if you know any aid availible to me that would help?
Also i was just wondering about tuition for the SAT test. maths is my weak spot so just wondering if you could give me an estimate of how much tuition would cost?
many thanks
Tom

Tom:
Here's a good place to hunt: http://collegesearch.collegeboard.com/search/index.jsp; alternatively, these WERE the colleges in2005 that offered financial aid to international undergrads in Mass:
liberal Arts Colleges
Amherst
Williams
Wellesley
Lib Arts/Research:
Brandeis
Clark
Northeastern
Top Notch:
Harvard
MIT
(Just for Girls):
Mount Holyoke
Smith
In particular, I think you might like this school at Boston University: http://www.bu.edu/sed/
AS for SAT tuition, we charge £65 per hour for one on one tuition; I'd be happy to talk about it further if you'd like to check the Contact Us page (http://www.usapplicants.com/contact-us/)
