Timetable to applying to US universities
Sorry - another busy week and I've only just checked back here.
SAT resits are not an issue; most US students sit it more than once, and under the new system, Universities no longer factor in previous attempts.
AS/A2 levels are a bit harder to judge, but I think US universities will be more likely to accept than not.

That is very helpful. I think Dec 2010 will be high stress levels in my household! Both SATs and A levels!
Another dumb question:
How are re-sits viewed by top universities? In England the likes of Oxford and Cambridge do not consider any resits unless there are exceptional circumstances.
Thanks

The latest is usually the December before admission - so Dec 2011.
The benefits to taking the SAT earlier, however, include: balance of Maths and English in student's curriculum to date; allowance of time to retake and improve scores; decreased pressure on the student.
Does that help?

I'm not sure whether it's helpful or not, but did you see: http://www.usapplicants.com/resources/calendar/

y son is taking his GCSEs next June. He wants to go to an American Uni and we are unsure when he should be taking his SATs. Is there any advantage to taking his SATs this summer? When is the latest he can take them assuming entry September 2012.
