I’ve been teaching more or less continuously since I was in high school, when my baseball coach asked me to teach math to my teammates so they could maintain athletic eligibility. I started teaching the SAT and ACT shortly thereafter, working with local students while working towards my undergraduate degree. I’ve been teaching full-time since then, in a variety of settings (small groups, classrooms, and one-to-one) and subjects (writing, literary theory, and SAT/ACT, to name a few).

I’m an Atlanta native, but I lived and taught in Washington D.C. for a few years before moving to London. I got my undergraduate degree from Emory University in Atlanta, where I hosted a radio show and served as editor-in-chief of the music magazine, and more recently started my postgraduate work at King’s College London.

I take great pride in being a bit of a polymath, and my interests run the gamut, from literature to baseball to political philosophy to number theory.

Personal Approach

The key word here is ''adaptability''. Every student has different needs, and the beauty of one-to-one tutoring is that I'm given the chance to identify those needs and tailor my approach as such. I've taught in large classroom settings, small groups, and one-to-one. While my general approach differs for each, the key is always identifying students' weaknesses and strengths and adjusting my lessons accordingly. It's also quite important, I have found, to establish a personal connection with each student to demonstrate my investment in their success.
